Where’s your Stopcock?

Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t have to search for your stopcock anytime you moved homes?

Even after you spend time looking for the stopcock, it’s often located in places that are difficult or awkward to reach. In some cases, this could even mean that the stopcock needs to be relocated which would involve a plumber. One search online and you’ll find many different pages with tips on how to find and relocate your stopcock.

Why so inconvenient? It seems almost arbitrary. Aren’t there better ways to manage such things?

It doesn’t stop there either. I recently moved to a new apartment and had difficulties turning the heating on. It took me a couple of days, after hours of browsing the web, to figure out what the issue was. How much time, effort and potentially money would we save if this sort of information were provided to us in advance? Then we wouldn’t have to waste several hours or days conducting our own diagnoses on home products or components.
