The SHED within SHEDyt

Think of that place at home where you keep the tools to manage your home, is it under stairs, the garage, or maybe the shed? Yes, that place where items you occasionally need to fix your home e.g. Garden equipment, power tools, screwdrivers, etc…. You mostly keep these ‘physical’ property management tools in your ‘shed’ because you want to keep your home tidy and they are only required every so often, typically HVACs need regular fixing.

So as these tools help to make your place safer and complete repairs and this was the origin of the thinking behind SHEDyt as a This digital shed would also make your place safer, easier to maintain, and more sustainable. The overarching thinking is the digital shed will also improve the quality, and design of your built environment. So this is the origin of the SHED part of SHEDyt.

We explain the SHEDyt offer, as a property management ‘digital’ toolbox for the vast majority of people that don’t use specialised software to manage homes or buildings. In effect, the tech platform replaces the home manual for occupiers, whether they are tenants or homeowners, which would previously have been provided as a printed folder of documents.

THE VERB - So what about the ‘ part of SHEDyt?

The thinking behind this is similar to how we are all now familiar with saying Google It, likewise, the team has the ambition that all time the property industry will start Shedying it! So instead of a user emailing a file, and uploading it to Dropbox, we envisage they will SHEDyt!

I.e. The user should read as shed-it, so a platform user may state “don’t email the information on your property, just shed-it” turned into a verb such as WhatsApp-me, or Google-it.

In Summary

SHEDyt is enabling the data within buildings to be easily accessible by real estate experts for marketplace opportunities. Additionally, this will provide any occupier with a platform to organise their home, not only for new buildings but also second-hand and commercial spaces too.

It has now been trademarked legally, so we are unlikely to change it, though would appreciate any feedback SHEDyt.
